Everyone can take some simple actions to protect themselves online and to recover in the event a cyber incident occurs.

Safe communications habits go a long way in preventing cybercrime.

  • Wondering where a link goes? Hover but don't click.
  • Receiving a request for an account number or password? Do not provide confidential information. If the message appears to be from a person or institution you work with, contact them via other means. For example, bank cards usually have a support phone number printed on them.
  • Did something suspicious appear in your WPI inbox? Report phishing to ITS.
  • Do you think you might be a victim of cybercrime? Report Cybercrime.
