Export Browser Favorites
Back up browser favorites prior to a reimage or changing devices so they are available on a new device.
Chrome
- Open Google Chrome
- Click the Customize and Control Google Chrome menu in the upper right corner
- Select bookmarks
- Select the bookmarks manager
- Click the Organize menu in the upper right corner
- Choose export bookmarks to HTML file
- Choose a location to save the file
- Click Save
Firefox
- Start Firefox
- Click the Bookmarks button
- Select Show All Bookmarks
- From the toolbar on the Library window, click Import and Backup
- Choose Export Bookmarks to HTML
- Choose a location to save the file
- Click Save
Edge
- Open Microsoft Edge
- Click the three dots in the upper right corner
- Select Settings
- Select Import info from another browser
- Click Export to a file
- Choose a location to save the file
- Click Save
Internet Explorer
- Start Internet Explorer
- Click the start in the upper right corner
- Where it says Add to favorites, click the down arrow
- Select Import and Export, and then click Next
- Click Export Favorites and then click Next
- Click Favorites and then click Next
- Type the name of the file that you want to export the favorites to
Safari
- Start Safari
- Click the gear in the upper right corner
- Select the Show Menu Bar
- In the upper left corner, click File
- Click Export Bookmarks
- Choose a location to save the file
- Click Save
