Account Creation

Note:
Replixfax is only accessible by faculty and staff members.

Before you can send an email via the fax gateway, your email address must be registered. Please contact ITS to have your account created. Please see the About ReplixFax article in Related Items for more details.

Once IT has authorized your account, you will need to Visit the Replixfax Portal to trigger the account creation process. During this process, you may need to sign out of your WPI account and then sign back in to access the portal.

File Formats

ReplixFax supports a wide range of file formats, but not all files will translate to a fax equally well. As fax is inherently limited to low resolution, grayscale graphics, anything with color or fine details may not render properly. To get the best quality results, the preferred method is to export your document to a PDF and use the PDF attachment in the fax email. ITS can assist you in creating PDF exports of most common documents.

In addition, other document formats are supported and should generate a reasonable quality fax, including:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • Powerpoint
  • Most common image formats

Converting Office Files to PDFs

  1. Open the file in the desktop version of the Microsoft Office app and select File.
  2. Click Export, which is near the bottom of the menu.
  3. Click Create PDF/XPS.
  4. Select your desired location, edit the file name (if applicable) and click Publish.

Sending Instructions
