Why?
As of September 9, 2019 Zoom engineers confirmed that connection problems in China are caused by corrupted local DNS, a common method of blocking websites in China.
Impact
WPI community members traveling to China cannot use Zoom for video-conferencing.
Action Needed
WPI IT recommends that WPI travelers try Office 365 Teams. Using Skype for Business may also work. Please note that while WPI IT supports Skype for Business, we do not support Skype.
