To help identify phishing and spoofing (acting like another person) WPI identifies all external inbound email at the server level. When the message arrives in your WPI inbox, [EXT] in the email subject line denotes a message sent to you from outside of WPI.

Example external subject line:
[EXT]Compliance Training

Replies and Forwards

If you are included on a reply or forward from a WPI email address to a message that originated outside of WPI it will still contain the marker even though the sender is internal. The difference is that the subject line will begin with RE: or FW: followed by [EXT].

Example internal forwarded subject line:
FW:[EXT]Compliance Training
