When is a Change Request needed? Entering a Change Request to review through CAB is needed when:

1. Planning a change to a production system that has potential to impact our ability to deliver the services that system supports.
2. Implementing a change or carrying out a process that has major user impact.
   
3. System changes are being made by a vendor or third party.
   

CAB discussion enables consideration of dates, potential conflicts, security needs, support preparation. It is a venue to share information about the change and elicit feedback from partners within and outside of IT.
